Hilda M. Teran is currently retired after 33 years of working in the title insurance business. Hilda was born on February 18, 1958, in East Austin, Texas. She was raised by both of her parents in a large Hispanic, Catholic family with her six sisters. She is proud to be a native Austinite. Although Hilda did not complete college, she advanced rapidly and held many high positions in her field, because of her love for people, her talents in customer service and her marketing skills. Hilda opened from inception to operation, a second-hand, Christian, retail clothing store called “Heaven Cent,” which she later sold. Until her recent marriage to Jimmy Morris, Hilda had been single for over 19 years following her second divorce. She currently has three adult children: Adam, Amanda and Marisa and three grandsons: Devin, Austin, and Joel.
After being saved in 2003, the Holy Spirit confirmed and launched Hilda’s lifelong dream of writing a book about her testimony, chronicling how God has impacted her life for over ten years. She is a devoted Christian and a member of Jubilee Christian Center in Austin, Texas, as well as Executive Director for PCM (Paula Crist Ministries) a women’s ministry led by her dear friend, Pastor Paula Crist. Hilda serves in many roles including group leader for Celebrate Recovery: a Christ-centered recovery program hosted at Jubilee, decorating coordinator for the Girlfriend’s Unlimited Women’s Luncheon at Jubilee Christian and she also occupies the position of an Advocate/Surrogate Parent for several children in a University of Texas charter school.
